This makes transporting a patient as comfortable as possible. The upper layer is built to provide maximum patient comfort while the sledge is in use.

To securely and comfortably hold the patient in place, the sledge has safety belts, a foot pocket and pulling loops at each end along with a tough, slippery coated bottom side. The loop at the head end is to hold back when descending stairways to avoid further injury during transport.
