How Does a Water Mist Fire Extinguisher Work?

Water mist fire extinguishers work by dispersing a de-ionised mist across an affected area. This cools, suffocates and suppresses Class A, B, F and electrical fires.

Water mist fire extinguishers work by first cooling the affected area with a fine mist. Then the mist extinguishing agent evaporates and turns into steam. This cuts off the fire’s oxygen supply. Due to the gentle, even application of mist, the fire can cool without the risk of an explosion occurring.

The water mist is also de-ionised. This means it has gone through a process that removes all electrically conductive materials.
