Fire extinguisher stands are primarily used to attach fire extinguishers to surfaces which otherwise cannot be mounted. Studded walls and glass walls both create difficulty with safely installing your fire extinguisher. That’s why a fire extinguisher stand would be used.
Alternatively, fire extinguisher stands can be used to create a fire point. A fire point essentially means a visible assembly area stocked with fire safety equipment for an emergency.

While fire extinguisher stands are not a legal requirement, fire extinguishers must never be left on the floor. Not only can this make the fire extinguisher an obstruction and a trip hazard, but it will also damage the fire extinguisher itself. This may cause the extinguisher to randomly be triggered or to break and become unusable when you need it most.
Instead, you must ensure all fire extinguishers are fitted to a fire extinguisher stand or correctly mounted to the wall.
Whether your fire extinguisher stand can be used outside will depend on the type of fire extinguisher stand.
Some fire extinguisher stands can be used outside. This allows construction sites and farms to safely store fire extinguishers outdoors. However, whether an extinguisher stand can be used outside or not depends on the individual extinguisher stand and the conditions you are planning to use it in. For example, some fire extinguisher stands are not designed to be durable against severe weather conditions, nor do they have enough stability against windy or harsh conditions.

Fire extinguisher stands must be in visible areas, where building occupants require easy access to the fire extinguishers. Extinguisher stands are typically located near escape routes and room exits, stairways, corridors and landings.
At FPS, the fire extinguisher stands we sell are a universal stand that fits almost every fire extinguisher. The only exception is CO2 extinguishers, which are taller than standard fire extinguisher stands. In this case, a different stand is advised.
