The recently introduced BS 8599-1:2019 Travel First Aid Kit has been specifically developed to cater to the needs of employees who utilise their vehicles for work purposes. This kit is intended to align with the existing Vehicle First Aid Kit, which currently poses a challenge by causing ambiguity regarding the most suitable option when an employee is engaged in off-site work activities. The introduction of this consolidated, singular kit effectively addresses and resolves this matter of confusion.
One pertinent challenge that has been observed is the coexistence of the Vehicle First Aid Kit and the Travel First Aid Kit. This overlap has resulted in a certain degree of confusion regarding the appropriate kit to employ in different scenarios. Recognising the need for clarity and streamlined procedures, a revised approach has been undertaken to create a single, all-encompassing kit that will effectively resolve this issue.
By amalgamating the features and functionalities of both kits, the new Travel First Aid Kit offers a comprehensive solution that addresses the unique requirements of employees operating outside of their usual work environment. This consolidated kit not only eliminates the confusion surrounding kit selection but also ensures that employees are adequately equipped to handle medical emergencies effectively.
The new BS 8599-1:2019 Travel and Motoring First Aid Kits (T7 & T8) are to replace current kits (T2 & T3).
