DoorSense provides a safe and legal way to hold open fire doors, improving access around a building.
If the fire alarm sounds, DoorSense automatically releases to let the door close.* It is quick and easy to install with no secondary installation costs, such as electrical wiring, and retrofits existing products. CE marked to EN 1155, EMC tested, and fire rated for timber doors (FD120), legally allows fire doors to be held open for easier access and sound tested over 50,000 times – beyond legal standards, so you can depend on it working.
*A separate door closer must be installed. It is recommended DoorSense is used in conjunction with a professionally installed fire alarm system.
How It Works
DoorSense is a standalone, battery-powered unit which can be fixed to a door in seconds to provide a reliable way to keep it open, and automatically release it if the fire alarm sounds. DoorSense is designed to react to a continuous sound of over 65dB when heard for at least 15 seconds.
How To Fit
DoorSense is incredibly easy to install, needing no wiring or specialist skills - just use the fixing template provided. DoorSense can even be retrofitted to doors using older door release mechanisms.
Once installed you can activate DoorSense working manually, using either the foot release or gently pushing the door open wider or automatically using the pre-set timer release.

Fire Protection Shop specialise in the supply of high-quality fire extinguishers. There are many different classifications of fire and so our products include a variety of different extinguisher types. For example, we offer water or foam fire extinguishers for solid combustibles and carbon dioxide fire extinguishers for flammable liquid or electrical fires. Each extinguishing agent comes with its benefits. Typically, water extinguishers are cheaper, produce a cooling effect and prevent reignition once the fire has been extinguished. Carbon dioxide extinguishers are clean agents, they leave no residue, are suitable for electrical fires and are often used on liquid fires which include petrol, oil or other solvents.
In addition to our extinguishers, we offer a range of fire safety products to both domestic and commercial premises. This includes the supply of fire blankets, extinguisher stands, smoke alarms, first aid kits and much more. Our entire range is sourced from reputable brand manufacturers at competitive prices. Also, all of our products carry a full warranty and guarantee and are supplied with relevant fixings where applicable.
So, for fire extinguishers, alarms and all your other fire safety needs, trust Fire Protection Shop to give you the quality, expertise and service you require.
